The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), on behalf of the Communications Satellite Program Office (PMW-146), Program Executive Officer, Space, Communications and Sensors (PEO-SCS), intends to award up to four (4) concept study contracts in fiscal year 2000 for the Advanced Narrowband Concept (ANC) which includes the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS). The ANC describes an advanced satellite communication system that will satisfy joint mobile users' communication requirements with an initial operational capability in CY 2007. 2. On or about 6 July 1999, SPAWAR will release on its WEB Site a formal request for proposals (RFP) seeking to satisfy the government's concept study requirement. The RFP documents may be viewed or downloaded from SPAWAR's Business Opportunities Web Page (BOP) at http://agena.spawar.navy.mil/command/02/acq/navbusopor.nsf 3. To view or download these documents, interested parties should refer to SPAWAR HQ, "OPEN SOLICITATIONS," solicitation number N00039-99-R-2108for MUOS and then click on the "blue triangle" next to the solicitation number to view the various RFP documents. 4. Interested parties are encouraged to register and subscribe to this solicitation, as they will receive e-mail notification when new or revised documents are posted.
