This is a multi-year contract which consists of the following work: Determine the population status of fisher (Martes pennanti) at Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Determine whether existing state harvest models are appropriate. Determine whether the use of these models may adversely impact island populations. Develop protocols for monitoring to enable the Lakeshore to determine if an ecologically sustainable population of fisher is being maintained.
