equipment necessary to perform dry-docking and repairs including, but
not limited to, the following base items: (1) Clean and inspect diesel
fuel tanks, (2) Preserve potable water tanks, (3) Clean and inspect
sewage holding tank, (4) Preserve deck plating and renew winch
foundation, (5) Remove, inspect, repair, and reinstall propeller shaft,
(6) Remove, inspect, repair and reinstall propeller,(7) Clean and test
grid coolers,(8) Install fathometer transducers on barge and preserve
transducer hull rings on tender, (9) Renew tug sewage vent piping,
(10) Overhaul and test valves, (11) Relocate barge's fuel oil transfer
line, (12) Renew hydraulic steering pumps and overhaul steering
components, (13) Cover and protect American Aero CG300 Oceanmaster aton
crane, (14) Install additional sewage discharge pump, (15) Inspect and
test deck fittings, (16) Renew and preserve towing knees assembly,
(17) Preserve barge spuds, spud wells and renew spud well liners, (18)
Preserve bilges in shaft alley, (19) Preserve lazarette compartment,
(20) Preserve barge's forward rake compartment, (21) Preserve barge
deck, (22) Preserve underwater body, (23) Preserve inboard bulwark,
(24) Preserve freeboard of tender, (25) Provide temporary logistics,
(26) Routine Dry-docking, and (27) GFP report in accordance with
solicitation section H. Options include, but are not limited to the
following items: (1) Welding repairs,(2) Minor coating repairs of
sewage holding tank (10% of interior surface area), (3) Inspect
government furnished shaft(s), (4) Straighten propulsion shaft(s), (5)
Renew water-lubricated shaft bearing(s), (6) Renew 3" waster pieces,
(7) Remove, inspect and reinstall rudder assemblies, (8) Preserve
underwater body, (9) Renew corrosion preventive zinc anodes, (10)
Provide temporary messing, (11) Provide temporary berthing, (12)
Ultrasonic testing, (13) Provide additional temporary logistics, (14)
Composite labor rate, and (15) Laydays. Vessel's homeport is St.
Petersburg, Florida. Vessel length is 75 foot "B" class Inland
Construction Tender. Vessel's minimum depth of water is six (6) feet.
Vessel's height clearance is 41 feet. Vessel's availability is for
forty-two (42) days, starting October 25, 1999. The place of
performance for this vessel is geographically restricted to no open
water transits, restricted from Tampa, Florida to Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania via intra coastal waterway. A non-refundable charge of
$100.00 is required, in the form of a certified check or money order
payable to the U.S. Coast Guard, for requested drawings. All other
referenced documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street,
Suite 600, Norfolk, Virginia. Funds are available for this procurement.
The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and specifications will be
issued on or around July 10, 1999. All responsible sources may submit
a bid, which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. This
notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-owned, and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs). The Department of
