65 -- INSPECTION, TESTING, PURGING, AND REPAIRS OF LIQUID OXYGEN CONVERTERS SOL AFMLO/FOM-P 5/27/99 DUE 070799 POC Monica J. Pileggi, 301-619-4070 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) sub part 12.6., as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The Air Force Medical Logistics Office/Veterans Affairs Special Services intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for the inspection, testing, purging, and repairs, if necessary, of Liquid Oxygen Converters, Type CRU-87/U, Part Number 8661075-10, NSN 3655-01-222-9494, manufactured by Essex Cryogenics of Missouri, Inc. This shall be an IDIQ contract. This equipment is for mission requirements. The Air Force has an inventory of 834 converters. The inspection, testing, purging, and repairs, if necessary, shall be on an as needed basis. In addition, the contractor shall store these converters (quantity shall be at the discretion of the Air Force) at contractor plant, and ready for shipment at no charge. The equipment, once inspected, shall be tagged and certified. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. A J&A for Other than Full and Open Competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition.
