This requirement is restricted to Kaman Aerospace, the aircraft prime manufacturer, since it is the only source possessing the full range of technical data and other capabilities necessary to perform the contract. The effort is expected to encompass repair of repairables, manufacturing, engineering, post production support, program shutdown functions and inventory managementincluding storage and issuance of parts/material, inventory reduction and saleof parts no longer needed to meet the Navy's repaired parts requirement. The anticipated period of performance of the contract is ten years. The contract shall include all inventory peculiar to the SH-2 aircraft. Due primarily to the proprietary nature of the data necessary to meet the Navy's repaired parts requirement, Kaman is the only source capable of performing the effort.
