Project consists of approximately 1.91 miles of Forest Road Reconstruction. Major items of work include Clearing and Grubbing, Excavation, Placement of 4050 tons of Aggregate Base, Reconditioning of Roadbed, Removal of Trees, Mobilization, Installing Drainage Ditches, Graded Dips, Lead Off Ditches, Catch Basins, Inlet Basins, and Corrugated Metal Pipes. Estimated range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Project is broken into 2 segments. Project is located off the Mormon Emmigrant Trail ( Iron Mountain Road )in El Dorado County, Calif. To reach Project beginning and Segment A from Placerville, travel East 15 miles on U.S. Route 50 to the Sly Park Road Turnoff. Then travel South on Sly Park Road (E-16) approx 5 miles to the Mormon Emmigrant Trail Turnoff. Then travel East on Mormon Emmigrant Trail (10N50) approx. 13 miles to the Pilliken Road Turnoff. Then travel approx. 3 miles East on Pilliken Road (10N46) to the Project beginning. ( DUE TO THE LARGE WASHOUT OF THE CAMP CREEK CROSSING, DIRECTIONS TO SEGMENT B ARE AS FOLLOWS. ) To reach Segment B from Placerville, travel East 15 miles on U.S. Route 50 to the Sly Park Road Turnoff. Then travel South on Sly Park Road (E-16) approx. 5 miles to the Mormon Emmigrant Trail Turnoff. Then travel East approx. 17 miles on Mormon Emmigrant Trail (10N50) to the 9N36 Road Turnoff. Then travel approx. 1 mile on Road 9N36 to the 9N40Y Turnoff. Then travel approx. 1/2 mile on Road 9N40Y to the 9N19.2 turnoff. Then travel approx. 1/4 mile on 9N19.2 to the 10N47 Road turnoff. Then travel approx. 2 miles on 10N47 to the Project site. There will be a pre-bid meeting on July 23, 1999 @ 10:00 am at the intersection of Morman-Immigrant Trail and Pilliken Road (10N46).
