Work includes saw cutting of existing abutments and piers; removal of existing concrete bridge slabs, rails, and curbs; Drilling and construction of cast in steel shell pilings; construction of concrete piling caps; supply and installation of a precast concrete bridge slabs, supply and installation of galv. steel bridge rails, and construction of guard rails. The Twin Lakes Dam Bridge will be 36' wide by 72' long and the Lake Mamie Bridge will be 40' wide by 68' long. It is not expected that the contractor will have time to mobilize this year. Contractor will be allowed to shut the road from the day after labor day to Nov 15 for two years in a row (2000 and 2001). The rest of the year the bridge needs to be maintained for one way traffic minimum. The anticipated completion date is Nov 15, 2001 Estimated price range is $250,000 to $500,000. Take US Highway 395 to the Mammoth Lakes turnoff and turn on State Highway 203 into the town of Mammoth Lakes, proceed on Highway 203 to the second light. At the second light, proceed straight ahead on Mamoth Lakes Basin Road. The first bridge is located at the outlet of Twin Lakes and the second bridge is located at the outlate of Lake Mamie. Both bridges are located on the Lakes Basin Road. Pre-bid meeting will be held on August 18, 1999 at 9:00 am. Location is the Twin Lakes Dam Bridge. Solicitation package will be ready approx.
