District National Historic Landmark (NHL) represents the National Park
Service thematic classification for properties associated with
European Colonial Exploration and Settlement, French Exploration, and
Settlement West of the Mississippi River. The work of this project
consists of writing a new NHL nomination which clearly states the
historical and architectural significance of cultural resources which
lie within geographical boundaries established in 1970. The National
Park Service will evaluate each proposal on the following minimum
criteria. These will be considered in descending order of importance:
Research strategy, Personal experience and qualifications, experience
in the field of historic preservation or public history, past
performance on similar projects and cost estimate. Solicitation
packages may be acquired in person, by mail or fax. Telephone request

contact, address, phone number and fax number and whether bidding as a
