The work consists of installing Current Vegetation Survey plots. The prime objective is to collect basic vegetation data of the tree, shrub, and ground layers consistent with data collected by the US Forest Service in Region 6 that will enable both agencies to combine the data sets for landscape, provincial, and regional analysis of current vegetation conditions and trends. These plots are one hectare in size when fully installed but will occupy less area when they straddle BLM boundary lines. There are a minimum of 370 plots and a maximum of 1,064 plots in this contract. The contract period for the installation of the plots will begin in September 1999 and will end in November 2001. There are restrictions as to when and which plots are to be installed during the contract period. The project sites are located in the Salem, Eugene, Roseburg, Coos Bay, and Medford Districts and the Klamath Falls Resource Area of the Lakeview District, Oregon.
