Notice of intent to acquire engineering and test services to support Milstar System Testing both on-orbit and at the Milstar spacecraft manufacturer's facility at Sunnyvale, CA from 1 Jan 2000 through 30 June 2002. The effort includes: depot maintenance of existing engineering-development-model (EDM) Milstar Air Force test terminals at Bedford, MA, Wright Patterson AFB and Sunnyvale, CA; operation and maintenance of Milstar Air Force terminals currently installed at Raytheon, Sudbury, MA; maintenance and operation of Chula Vista Depot Level Repair Station, CA; operation and maintenance of simulators and test equipment, terminal procedure development, data analysis, and engineering support for Milstar Systems Tests, preparation of Air Force terminal databases for both operations and test, and installation of EDM terminals at the Milstar System Sustainment Office, Peterson AFB, CO upon completion of the test efforts. Estimated value is approximately $10 to 12 Million over the two and a half year period. The Government intends to issue a sole-source contract to Raytheon Systems Company for this effort. Raytheon is currently performing similar effort as a part of the Milstar AF terminal Development contract and the necessary terminals, simulators and test equipment are all in place at Raytheon facilities.
