The Defense Distribution Center has received a request to procure free-standing dock levelers for Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin located in Stockton, CA. Ship To Address: Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin, Building 286, Sharpe Site, Stockton, CA 95296-0109. DOCK LEVELERS: Three (3) mechanical Dock Levelers shall be installed on the west side of Building 286 at Doors 4, 12 and 20. The mechanical dock levelers shall be non-powered (non-hydraulic) units operated by a series of springs and counterbalances. The dock levelers will be 7 feet wide by 9 feet long with a 1 foot lip extension. The dimensions for the angled access platforms will be 16 feet by 16 feet in a triangular shape that extends 45 degrees away from the edge of the dock. The pavement next to the dock slopes away from the building to provide drainage. Therefore, the height of the supports for the dock levelers and platforms will vary between 40 inches to 60 inches. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to verify thesedimensions prior to the dock leveler installation. The contractor shall provide non-skid steel tread plate for the dock leveler and platform surfaces. The dock levelers shall have a 1 foot lip extension that descends into the trailer. The lip extension will be hinged and supported from beneath by steel framework that contains lifting, positional and lowering assembly. The load capacity shall be a minimum of 20,000 pounds. Once the freight carrier has departed, the equipment shall return to the stored, level position. INSTALLATION OF DOCK LEVELERS MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 30 CALENDAR DAYS FROM DATE OF AWARD. Please provide descriptive literature for the items quoted. Descriptive literature can be in the form of cuts, illustrations, drawings, and brochures, which shows the characteristics or construction of a product or explains its operation. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION ISSUED! Contractor must be capable to accept payment for supplies and services by a Government issued purchase order. This acquisition is unrestricted.
