NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 10 each Ec-10 fan/motor assembly, P/N SFL1488, 5 each EC-10 chamber main PC board, P/N SFL2038; 5 each aux. Contractor for EC-10 chamber main PC board, P/N SFL1601; 6 each transducer/control cables, P/N 77-3-1012; 2 each mater board for Model 8500, P/N SEA 712-244; 2 each senor board for Model 8500, P/N SEA 712-245 and 2 each 902P temperature controller for EC-10 chamber, P/N 902P; This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Instron Corp., Canton, MA, replacement parts must be compatible with the Instron Model 8500 electronic system and EC-10 thermal chambers that exist at NASA. Instron is the only company that offers a compatible product. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have ten (10) days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the ten (10) days or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
