The Government intends to purchase on an all or none sole source basis, the following items manufactured by Instar Corporation: (1) P/N E01-00D-IN007 5.2GB Ext. Photon M/F optical drive subsystem for HP UNIX. Includes: one 5.2GB ext. optical drive with SCSI-2 connectors. UNIX software, one 5.2GB erasable disk and disk cleaner, one year software maintenance and one year drive hardware warranty, to be used with O/S HP UX9, Hp UX10 (5 each). (2) P/N E01-00D-IN010 Instar 5.2GB Ext. Photon M/F optical drive subsystem for Solaris 2.X. includes: one 5.2GB ext. optical drive with SCSI-2 connectors; MO-SOL interface software with one year maintenance; one 5.2GB erasable disk and disk cleaner; one year drive hardware warranty (4 each). (3) P/N A01-00D-SA004 Instar 5.2GB internal 5.25" Photon M/F optical drive, 4MB Cache, ANSI/ISO standard. One year warranty (3 each). (4) P/N C01-00R-PM004 5.2GB Magneto Optical media, 2048 Byte/Sector (5 each) (5) P/N A01-ACB-CS012 Cable-SCSII 6' HD50 TO HD50, Male to Male (5 each) (6) P/N A01-00D-CS017 Cable-SCSI 6' HD68 to HD50 with built-in 9 line active termination (5 each). (7) P/N A01-ATR-CS002 SCSI Forced Perfect Terminator, 18 lines narrow, SCSI 2 Micro-D Male 50 pin connector with LED (10 each). The AEGIS Baseline 5 and 6 computer programs utilize the Sony Optical drives with Instar optical drivers. The requested Optical drives will be installed within the AEGIS program generation suite of computers to support the AEGIS Computer Center AEGIS computer program Lifecycle Support Engineering Agent and fleet delivery mission. This synopsis/solicitation will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The above must be Y2K compliant. Contractors must provide written documentation addressing the Y2K compliant issue. All responsible sources shall provide written documentation stating they are Instar authorized dealers/distributors. All responding vendors must provide their CAGE Code, Dun & Bradstreet number, and Tax Identification number and must be registered in the Central Contractor's Registration Database.
