Chemical Command (SBCCOM), has a requirement to develop a Joint
Transportable Collective Protection System (JTCOPS). This will be a new
nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) protective shelter system for
use by all DoD services. In order to promote an environment of
teaming/partnering for this acquisition, SBCCOM wants to involve
industry in the very early development of this acquisition. An Industry
Day for the JTCOPS will be held on 21 July 1999 at the Natick, MA
installation. All parties interested in attending the Industry Day
should furnish an e-mail address to the POC listed below. Details
(i.e., location, time) will be furnished to all interested parties
through their furnished e-mail addresses. It will be SBCCOM's intent to
discuss the proposed concepts, revisions to the draft performance
specification, and the acquisition strategies at this meeting. For more
detailed information about this acquisition, a copy of the draft JTCOPS
performance specification, acquisition strategies under consideration,
and a summary of the CBD released May 27, 1999, are available for
review on the Natick Contract Division web page at
