issue green dress shirt fabric (AG-415) 1. New Program. Status: Market
Survey is to be conducted, during which various fabric samples of
commercially available fabrics will be reviewed/evaluated. No
solicitation document currently exists. These fabrics will be evaluated
for a future wear test. 2. Objective: To conduct a market survey to
identify fabrics for a possible future replacement of the current
fabric used in the production of the Issue Dress Shirt (Men's &
Women's) (current fabric is 65/35 polyester/cotton broadcloth, AG-415).
The Government is not mandating the type of fibers to be used. The only
requirements are that the color of the fabrics be either a shade of
Tan, Green or White; and be of a type appropriate for use in dress
shirts. Companies interested in having their fabrics considered for
possible future use must submit one yard of their fabric, along with an
information paper (specificatin sheet) describing the fabric in detail,
to include suchthings as fabric name, washing instructions, blend of
materials, place of manufacture, location of source of fibers/elements,
colorfastness, current uses for the fabric, pricing information (cost
per yard) reflecting dixcounts for various volumes ordered, statement
as to the fabric's compliance with color requirements, and any other
informaiton the company feels appropriate. If one of the submitted
samples is chosen for further testing, the manufacturer must have
available/or be able to produce the needed yardage of fabric for a wear
test in a short period of time. 3. The CBD announcement should be open
to all potentially valid submittals from interested commercial
contractors. 4. The fabric sample and information paper must be
submitted no later than 31 August 1999 to Ms. Pam Moriarty, U.S. Army
Soldier & Biological Chemical Command, Natick Soldier Center, ATTN:
AMSSB-PM-RST-E(B), Room D247, Kansas Street, Natick, MA 01760-5019. All
responses must be in writing. No telephonic responses will be accepted.
