Scope of Work is to design and construct two permanent canopy structures 65_ long x 60_ wide x 22_ high to cover F-16 jets on the parking ramp at Homestead Air Reserve Station, Miami-Dade County, Homestead, Florida. The base is located approximately thirty miles south of Miami, FL. The work includes but is not limited to cutting into the existing concrete parking ramp and forming/pouring steel reinforced concrete foundations to support approximately 40 each 6_x6_ steel columns and welding steel I-beams into a canopy framework. The steel framework shall be primed and painted for corrosion resistance. A fabric sunscreen material shall be fitted to the welded steel framework. Work must be coordinated with the Airfield Manager to minimize impact to flying operations. This acquisition is for a Firm-Fixed-Price contract. The SIC is 1541. Magnitude of construction is estimated to be between $25,000 and $100,000. Project performance period is 30 calendar days. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or about 30 Jul 99. Dates are for estimating purposes only, and may be revised as indicated in the Request for Proposal (RFP). This solicitation is unrestricted and is open to large, small, small disadvantaged, and woman owned business concerns. Design is the most important valuation factor of this proposal.
