Firm-Fixed Price Contract, the project provides for additional office/administrative space for the Base Civil Engineer Facility, Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas. There are two separate and distinct designs, each of which will accomplish this requirement. The solicitation for this project will include the full compliment of plans and specifications for each design. At a future time no later than 10 days prior to bid opening, one of the two designs, and all associated plans and specifications, will be eliminated by amendment. The two designs have been identified as Plan "A" and Plan "B". Plan "A" includes the construction of a 5,600 square foot addition to existing Building 5595, which is currently occupied by most of the present Civil Engineer Administrative staff. Building 5595, which has approximately 25,000 square feet, will undergo interior renovation and remodeling, in two separate phases. This project also includes the renovation of approximately 8,100 square feet of climate controlled space and 2,000 square feet of workshop space in another nearby building, 5275. Plan "B" also requires interior renovation and remodeling of Building 5595 in two separate phases. The additional feature of Plan "B" includes the construction of a 16,000 square foot addition to Building 5595. The plans and specifications will be placed on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a paper hard copy format. Notification of amendments shall be made through either 3.5" diskette, CD ROM, and/or the Internet. The Government intends to issue this solicitation through the use of CD ROM and the Internet. However, the Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification of any changes to this solicitation. It is therefore the contractor's responsibility to check the following address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation.
