This is a sole source, combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, and the test program outlined in FAR 13.6 as well as supplemental information provided herein. This non-competitive action will be processed in accordance with FAR 6.301-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) as a modification to contract 50-PAPT-8-00028 with Dataware Technologies, Bethesda, MD. Dataware is the developer of BRS products and is the only known source who can provide the approximately 45 days of on-site consulting services all of which are to be completed on or before September 30, 1999. The services are required to assist the PTO in several areas where the BRS Search Engine is utilized which include the Trademark Electronic Search System, Trademark Presumptive Classification System and the Application Capture and Review System (ACRS) particularly in connection with the Classification Server. Thisannouncement constitutes the RFP and is the only solicitation that will be issued. A sole source proposal is being requested pursuant to this announcement and shall reference requisition numbers 193P9900721 and 193P9802202. This solicitation incorporates all of the applicable provisions and clauses in effect through FAC 97-11, as if stated in full text, as well as the terms and conditions of FAR 52.212-1. A firm fixed priced commercial items purchase order, utilizing simplified acquisition procedures, will be issued.
