Provide back-up radiologists for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers located in Battle Creek and Saginaw, Michigan. Individuals proposed to work under this contract shall be required approximately 60 days at the VA Battle Creek, Michigan and approximately 90 days at the VA Saginaw, Michigan, to interpret diagnostic/fluoroscopic radiology examinations, provide evaluation of patients, as requested, the response to be in the form of a dictated radiologic report. Reports shall be based on the interpretation of projections or radio images of the area to be examined, the selection of which is that of the interpreting radiologist. All services shall be performed "on site" at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers in Battle Creek and Saginaw, Michigan. Dictated interpretations shall be ready for final transcription within 16 hours from the submission of radiographs to the Radiologist, to provide for delivery to primary care areas within 24 hours. Back-up radiologists shall be required on-site for scheduled absences and in case of illness to provide the services described above. The successful offeror will be given a minimum of two weeks notice to provide coverage for scheduled absences and shall be capable of responding within 24 hours when coverage is required due to illness or other emergency. Radiologists shall be required to verify transcribed reports electronically using the VA support software; VISTA/DHCP. The solicitation will be available on or about July 1, 1999.
