This procurement is for a requirements contract for the overhaul/ repair of components for the F100PW200/220 engines which power the F-15/F-16 aircraft. A 3 year basic contract with 2 one-year options is contemplated. Items to be repaired and BEQ's will be listed on Exhibits A,B,C,D, and E (ELINS A001-A00R) of the solicitation. Estimated date for issuance of the RFP is 16 Jul 99 to the only approved source, United Technologies Corporation, Hamilton Standard Divison, CAGE 73030. Qualification requirements do not exist for the repair of these items. A waiver from qualification requirements is being developed. Therefore, no source approval requests can be evaluated for this requirement. All potential offerors should contact the buyer/PCO identified in this notice for additional information and/or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this acquisition. If your concerns are not satisfied by the contracting officer, an Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of an acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or Contracting Officer, but communicates Contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentially as to the source of the concern.
