66 -- LEICA MZ FLIII FLUORESCENCE STEREOMICROSCOPE AND ACCESSORIES POC Lisa M. Botella, Point of Contact and Contracting Officer, (215) 233-6551, fax (215) 233-6558 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), intends to negotiate solely with Leica Microsystems, Inc., in Deerfield, IL to furnish, deliver (F.O.B. Destination, within Consignee's Premises), and install a Leica MZ FLIII Stereofluorescence Microscope on Brightfield/Darkfield at the Eastern Regional Research Center in Wyndmoor (Philadelphia), PA. This tabletop microscope with a trinocular tube allows the capability to study, directly in foods, the effect of stressful environments on expression from various stress protein gene promoters fused to the green fluorescent protein (gfp) gene. The zoom range required is 8X-100X (with 1.0X objective and two (2) 10X eyepieces) with a total magnification in the range of 5X to 640X. The Stereofluorescence Microscope System shall include the following: (1 each), Stereofluorescence Microscope with a trinocular tube with a selectable 100% photo port position; a zoom range greater than 12.5 to 1, in 10 engageable steps, with a resolution up to 600 line pairs per millimeter; 1.6 planapo objective; 0.63x planapo objective; course and fine focus drive; lamphouse with six (6) lense collector; (1 each), high-performance transmitted-light stand with tilting mirrors (polished and diffused) to allow light to come from below; flexible light guide; a fiber optic light source and a fiber bundle; 100 watt mercury light source and power supply; (1 each), filter changing system for changing the filters quickly and easily and include (1 each), filter set each for visualizing green fluorescent protein (GFP), rhodamine, UV, and green fluorescence; (1 each), true digital capture camera with two (2) 10x eyepieces (adjustable), a 22mm eye point, and a 0.63x video objective. The camera requires a 2/3" chip, 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution for full field framing and focusing, a PCI interface card, a motor-focus system, and modular accessories for photography; Built-in safety features for UV protection; Dust covers for the entire system; A standard commercial warranty; One set each of the user manual and a parts listing; Installation of the system and on-site training for one user is required. Delivery is required within 90 days from receipt of the order. Companies with the demonstrated capability to provide and service such equipment must submit a written substantive statement outlining the Company's and system's capabilities to the Contracting Officer within 15 days of this notice.
