drebenstedt,b@ioc.army.mil, drebenstedt,b@ioc.army.mil. The Rock
Island Arsenal is conducting a market survey -- sources sought to
identify industry/academia that have ongoing projects/research and/or
product development in the areas of biological and hybrid detection
technologies. In this instance, hybrid detection technologies are
capable of both biological and chemical detection. The detection
technologies should be agent resistive and decontamination survivable,
under current development, and soon to be ready for production.
Technologies of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Point Detection; 1.1 Collection; 1.1.1 Aerosol samplers; 1.1.1.1
Impactors; 1.1.1.2 Cyclones; 1.2 Trigger; 1.2.1 Particle Airborne
Particle Sizer; 1.2.2 Shape and Size analysis; 1.3 Trigger and
Detection; 1.3.1 Pyrolysis Ion Mobility Spectrometry (ISMS) and/or Mass
Spectrometry (MS); 1.3.2 Flame Photometry; 1.3.2.2
Pyrolysis/luminescence; 1.3.4 Fluorescence based; 1.4 Detection; 1.4.1
Bio-luminescence; 1.5 Detection and Identification; 1.5.1 Advanced
Spectrometry; 1.5.2 Flow cytometer; 1.6 Identification; 1.6.1 Antibody
based; 1.6.1.1 Fluorescent Airborne Particle Sizer (FLAPS); 1.6.1.2
Smart tickets; 1.6.1.3 Fiber Optic waveguide; 1.6.1.4 Surface plazmon
resonence; 1.6.1.5 Resonent mirror; 1.6.2 Gene based; 1.6.2.1 Polymeric
Chain Reaction (PCR) based; 11.6.2.2 Direct hybridization; 1.6.2.3 Ion
channel switch; 1.6.2.4 Biomimetic; 1.6.2.5 Polymeric imprints; 2
Standoff Detection (Active and Passive); 2.1.1 Ultraviolet (UV); 2.1.2
Infrared (IR); 2.1.3 Near Infrared (NIR); 2.1.4 Microwave; 2.1.5
Millimeter wave// Parties should state any Research and Development
project on-going/planned and manufacturing capabilities. Parties may
also identify technologies and/or techniques not listed above that they
feel may be relevant. Mature research currently being pursued by
private industry and academia can be used as a foundation for defense
applications. Interested parties should respond to this market survey
by transmitting two hard copies of the information on their relevant
and specific products or projects no later than 22 days after this
publication. Information should include specifications (weight, size
and detection levels), brochures, literature papers, articles, etc that
explain the material, coating, associated manufacturing process,
technology or technique used. Only written communications will be
accepted and should be addressed to: US Army Materiel Systems Analysis
Activity, Attention: AMXSY-LR (N M Hoesly) Rock Island, IL 61299-7260.
