Sealed bids from all business concerns will be accepted for the Natchez Trace Parkway Project PRA/NPS-NATR 3P4, in Hinds County, Mississippi. The project consists of grading approximately 5.4 miles of the Natchez Trace Parkway from Interstate 20 to Cynthia Road south of U.S. Route 49, and constructing approximately 1.8 miles of incidental roadways. The project includes grading, drainage, aggregate base, hot asphalt concrete pavement, placement of curb and gutter, and other miscellaneous work. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Clearing and grubbing, 48 ha; Embankment Construction, 585,000 m3; Aggregate base, grading MSHD, 150,000 m2; Hot asphalt concrete pavement, class B, 5,000 t; and Single course asphalt surface treatment, 63,400 m2. The following applies to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has bonding programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises in acquiring short-term capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1,000,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
