66 -- TRANSFERMAN NK MICROMANIPULATOR SOL 9011265145-00727 DUE 072399 POC John Wilkinson, Telephone (301) 504-5799, Fax (301) 504-8696 USDA intends to purchase a quantity of one each of the following items: TransferMan NK "Micromanipulator" model # 5178 and 5177, which are manufactured by Eppendorf in Hamburg, Germany. The above micromanipulator systems, shall be used as a microscope accessory, for performing pronuclear zygote injections, cell and nuclear transfer (cloning) applications and in vitro fertilization by Intercytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The above systems include programmable, electronically controlled, proportional, stepper motor joysticks for precise positioning of microtools, pneumatic and hydraulic pressure system for aspiration, holding and dispensing suspended cells and transferring and injecting cells by means of a holding capillary, automatic microinjector with programmable time and pressure constants and itegrated pressure supply, adjustable compensation pressure to prevent injection solution from mixing with medium, pressure range for injection rising pressure and injection mode filling pressure. EppendorfScientific, Inc. is the sole importer and distributor of the above items. Contractor shall maintain a stock of spare parts for the above two items; which is especially important, because the above equipment is made in Germany and siginificant, unacceprtable delays for service and repair would be experienced without direct access to a parts inventory. USDA also intends to procure a quantity of one each of the following that go with the above two micromanipulators: Transjector 5246 Basic, Cell Tram Air, Cell Tram oil, Tansjector 5246 footswitch, and a Microscope Adapter for a Leica DMIRB/E. All the above items requested shall include "free" one year parts and warranty. A copy of this solicitation shall be made by WRITTEN REQUEST ONLY. This solicitation incorporates clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 99-08. This acquisition will be solicited on a unrestricted basis. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3821. Delivery is required 30 days after award of this solicitation. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination to the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Beltsville, Maryland. Any interested/qualified sources who can provide all of the items stated above, must respond by July 23, 1999. All responses will be evaluated in order to determine the capabilities stated in the RFQ. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsive/responsible offeror whose quote conforms to the solicitation and will be most advantageous to the Government.
