locations within Badlands National Park for the period of October 1,
1999 through September 30, 2000.See attached provisions and pickup
schedule: PART I -- GENERAL GUIDELINES: 1. This contract involves
collection and disposal of solid waste from specified areas within
Badlands National Park for the period October 1, 1999 through September
30, 2000. For the purpose of this contract, solid waste includes refuse
generated from: offices, public restrooms, households, wood stoves,
building and grounds maintenance activities, and vehicle service
garage. Refuse will not be separated or sorted by type or location. 2.
The Contractor shall provide the appropriate size and quantity of
dumpsters at locations shown on enclosed bid schedule. The Contractor
shall keep dumpsters in good condition and be maintained in a clean and
odor free condition. Rusty, damaged, or unslightly dumpsters shall be
replaced or relocated as per satisfaction of the Contracting Officer.
3. All refuse shall be collected and transported from park property and
be disposed of at a state approved landfill. The Contractor is required
to provide written verification of the state's approval at the time of
bid submission. All dump fees and other disposal matters shall be
between the Contractor and the landfill owners. 4. All collection
trucks shall be enclosed to prevent loss of refuse during loading and
transporting. Trucks shall be maintained in accordance with interstate
transport requirements. Trucks shall operate only on established park
roadways and vehicle parking areas. 5. The Contractor shall pick up
and dispose of any litter and trash around the dumpsters. Adequate
precaution shall be taken to prevent spillage when loading. 6. The park
reserves the right to add or delete the frequency and quantity of
dumpsters under this contract to correspond with need and usage
patterns. The cost for additional dumpster quantities or frequencies
will be paid at the rate quoted on the bid schedule. In the event "non
bid schedule" pickups are required, the Contractor will be notified by
the Contracting Officer or his/her Authorized Representative.
Unauthorized pickups will not be billable. 7. Invoices stating actual
pickup dates, sizes, and locations of dumpsters will be required from
the Contractor at the end of each billing month. Upon receipt of valid
invoice, the Contracting Officer will process and forward invoice for
Contractor's partial payment. Payment will be based solely on number
of dumpsters emptied at the bid schedule price. 8. Dates of weekly
pickup shall be Friday for weekly scheduled pickups and Tuesday and
Friday for twice weekly pickups unless otherwise renegotiated with
