Sealed bids from all business concerns will be accepted for the Blue Ridge Parkway Project PRA-BLRI 2D14, in Wilkes County, North Carolina. The project consists of slide repairs at Milepost 252.5 and Milepost 252.9, overlay of the Sheets Gap Overlook, and overlay of approximately 700 meters of parkway mainline. The project work includes clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, installation of geogrid, hot asphalt concrete pavement placement, installing stone curb, guardrail installation, and other miscellaneous work. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Clearing and grubbing: 1 ha; Roadway excavation: 14,800 m3; Geogrid reinforcement: 10,300 m2; Aggregate Base: 465 tons; Hot Asphalt Concrete Pavement: 750 tons; Stone curb: 200 m; Guardrail: 200 m; Topsoil: 560 tons; and Erosion control mat: 5,600 m2. The project is expected to fall within the price range of $500,000 to 1,000,000.
