Y -- ARKANSAS CITY LOCAL FLOOD PROTECTION PROJECT, ARKANSAS CITY, KANSAS SOL DACW56-99-B-0037 DUE 081999 POC Ms. Diane Cianci, Contract Specialist, 918-669-7270 The work consists of construction of 1) 10,224 linear feet of levee along the Arkansas River, 2) two stoplog structures, and 3) channelization of 8,348 linear feet of the Walnut River. Remove and replace gravity drain pipes, pressure pipes, inlet and outlet headwalls. Install three levee access gates, 13 relief wells, 29 manholes, and 8,570 linear feet of toe drain. Place riprap along the bank of the Arkansas River in two locations for streambank protection. Stockpile excess material from the Walnut River channel. Estimated cost range of this project is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 19 July 1999, and will be provided on Compact Disks (CD-ROMS). IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE NUMBER OF CD-ROMS WILL BE LIMITED TO ONE (1) PER FIRM. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
