Reclamation has a requirement for overhauling a hydrologic generating
unit (unit number two) at the Folsom Powerplant, Folsom California. 1.
The major components of the solicitation include the following: a.
Furnishing and installing self-lubricated greaseless bushings for the
wicket gate system; b. Installing Government-furnished wear rings for
the runner; c. Furnishing and installing new packing for the main
turbine shaft and wicket gate shafts; d. Overhauling the servo-motor
cylinders, check (cushion) valve, air valve, turbine oil cooler; e.
Furnishing and installing replacement turbine main shaft bolts and
wicket gate shear pins; f. Repairing cavitation damage to turbine
runner and wicket gates; g. Repairing the runner cone, cover plates,
and headcover; h. Aligning the runner main shaft and wicket gates; i.
Balancing the turbine runner; j. Removing the existing wedges in the
generator stator core slots including the Resistance Temperature
Detectors (RTDs) located directly behind the wedges; Furnishing and
installing a new wedging system and new RTDs; k. Removing the RTDs and
their associated wells or receptacles in the generator thrust bearing
and in the upper and lower guide bearings. Furnishing and installing
new RTDs and wells or receptacles. l. Removing the two existing rotor
sliprings (terminating the generator field leads) including the
associated main and pilot brushes. Furnishing and installing new
sliprings and brushes. Refurbishing the existing sliprings for future
use on any one of the two remaining generators in the powerplant; m.
Recalibrating the existing generator field shunt resistor; n.
Furnishing and installing replacement cooling coils for the lower guide
bearing and thrust bearings; o. Furnishing and installing replacement
brake rings and overhauling the brakes; p. Furnishing and installing
replacement thrust bearings, surface air coolers, CT switches, CT
wiring, and CT shorting connections; q. Refurbishing the existing
thrust bearings and upper and lower guide bearings for future use on
any one of the two remaining generators in the powerplant; r.
Performing DC ramp tests, rotor pole drop tests, and stator corona
tests in as-found and as-repaired conditions; 2. The contract
completion period will approximately 210 calendar days; Interested
