Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has a requirement to conduct Threat
Representative Testing of the STANDARD Missile (SM-3) in support of the
Navy Theater Wide Ballistic Missile Defense (TBMD) Program. This effort
is a follow-on to the AEGIS LEAP Intercept (ALI), SM-3 flight test
program and will provide for continued missile development, test and
production efforts necessary to support the testing schedule for Navy
TBMD. NAVSEA intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Raytheon
Missile Systems Company of Tucson, AZ to satisfy this requirement.
