synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. This is Request for Proposal
N66604-99-Q-3752. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04.
The size status for businesses competing under this acquisition is
unrestricted, the Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 3577; the size
standard is 1000 employees. This is a Brand Name Or Equal acquisition.
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island
(NUWCDIVNPT) intends to purchase 39 each Motorola Single Board Computer
Part Number: MVME 162-412. The intended use of these units will be to
incorporate them into the Signal Data Converter Storer (SDCS) interface
unit of the AN/BYQ-6 Tactical Combat System. The computer cards will
act as an interface controller to handle communications and data
transfers between the Type 18 Periscope system (with Field Change 34-18
installed) and other ships' systems via the SDCS interface unit. This
interface will provide two-way exchange of data such as, ship's course,
heading, speed, depth, and location, as well as, contact information
shared between several systems for targeting correlation. Delivery
shall be F.O.B. Destination to NUWCDIVNPT, Newport, Rhode Island. Ten
(10) units shall be delivered 21 days after date of purchase order, or
sooner; the remaining twenty-nine (29) units shall be delivered no
later than 01 Sep 99. The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to
Offerors-Commercial, applies to this acquisition with applicable
addenda. Offers will be evaluated per FAR Provision 52.212-2,
Evaluation -- Commercial Items. The offeror shall include a completed
copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and
Certifications -- Commercial Items, with its offer. The clause at
52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, applies with
applicable addenda. Clause 252.212-7001 of the Defense FAR Supplement
(DFARS), Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes
or Executive Orders Applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial
items (JAN 1997, applies with applicable addenda.) The Defense
Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rating is DO-A7. The
solicitation will close on July 30, 1999 at 2:00 p.m.> local time.
