The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention/SAMHSA through the Program Support Center, General Acquisitions Branch plans to award a sole source requirement to The American Indian Prevention Coalition for the development of an American Indian Prevention Initiative. The period of performance shall be five months. The contractor will assist The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention develop guidelines for culturally appropriate preventative interventions, targeting American Indian communities. A plan will be developed to identify key American Indian leaders who will aid in the long term development of the strategy, identifying key issues to be addressed, and suggest action steps for the implementation of this plan. A meeting will be held to discuss recommended action steps of the American Indian community that address issues related to cultural awareness and specificity of American Indian issues in prevention.
