The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention/SAMHSA through the Program Support Center, General Acquisitions Branch plans to award a sole source requirement to Dr. Anthony Marsella for the Identification of Culturally Appropriate Assessments. The period of performance is 6 months. A comprehensive guide to key assessments that can be used by The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention grantees shall be developed. The key assessments shall work closely with the domains identified by the Core Measures Initiative in areas related to: Asian/Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, and African Americans. A two part document shall be produced that logically builds one step upon another: 1) a literature review, synthesizing the relevant scientific studies relating to assessment in substance abuse in Asian/Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, and African Americans; 2) selection of the best measures for Asian/Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, and African Americans that correspond to the five domains used in The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention's Core Measures Initiative.
