Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ intends to enter into
negotiations on a sole source basis with the Raytheon Systems Company
to procure two (2) Laser Target Designator/Ranger Test Sets (LTDR) for
the F/A-18 Aircraft, P/N 74D740144-1005 via an order against BOA
N00383-98-G-001A. Raytheon is the only known source with the knowledge,
experience and technical data required to perform this effort. The
Government does not own the specifications or drawings. The LTDR test
set is required to verify that the laser target designator/ranger is
operational within usable limits and must provide the capability to
measure average energy output, determine forward-looking
infrared-to-laser boresight alignment accuracy, meausre laser beam
divergence, determine laser beam profile, and determine if there are
any stray beams. Firms that recognize and produce the required items
are encouraged to identify themselves. All responsible sources are
encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be considered by the
Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
A determination by the Government whether to open the requirement to
competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the
