The Coastal Systems Station (CSS), Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, intends to solicit proposals for the design and fabrication of a Wide Bandwidth Sonar (WBS) to be used in the evaluation of high bandwidth sonar processing techniques and emulation of biological sonars. The WBS shall consist of three units; the Submersible Unit, Topside Unit, and the Umbilical Cable. Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS), modified COTS, and new design systems will be considered. Performance requirements and minimum physical constraints are included in the performance specification that will be part of the solicitation package. Delivery of the unit, fully assembled and tested in accordance with the specification, is required by 1 September 2000. Delivery will be to the Coastal System Station, Panama City, FL.
