AND RECOVER ATON BATTERIES AT VARIOUS SITES IN CALIFORNIA. Only written
requests for the Request for Proposals will be accepted (FAX
510-535-7233). Provide professional diving services to discover and
recover batteries at approximately 29 ATON sites at various locations
in California. Performance period is 60 days after receipt of Notice of
Award. This procurement is subject to the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to large and small
business participation. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED ACQUISITION, AND ALL
RESPONSIBLE SOURCES ARE ENCOURAGED TO RESPOND. The applicable SIC code
is 8999, and the small business size standard is 500 employees or
less. For minoirty, women, and disadvantaged business enterprises: The
Department of Transportation (DOT Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Untiliztion) has programs to assist minority, women-owned, and
disadvantaged business enterprises in acquiring short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for tranportation-related contracts.
Loans are availaable under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime lending rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receivable financing. Anticipated issue date for the Request for
Porposals is 21 July 1999 and estimated deadline for receipt of
proposals is Close of Business (4:00 PM) on 23 August 1999. Posted
