necessary to design and construct an approximately 23,500 gross sq. ft.
expansion at the Portland, OR Air Mail Facility located on 7640 N.E.
Airport Way, Portland, OR 97238-5598. The canopy expansion is to be a
one-story, 16-foot clear, economical, structure added to the existing
facility. Note the information in the Geotechnical Report.
Representative construction type to be: steel framed building with
metal canopy fascia. New criminal investigative office to be masonry
units to match existing facility. Project to include CCTV and
structured wiring requirements. No fixed mechanization is required.
Scope of work includes, but is not limited to, all trades typical to
the complete construction of a project such as site work, off-site
work, landscape, foundation, concrete, steel, roofing, waterproofing,
interior finishes, millwork, signage, doors & windows, hardware,
plumbing, electrical, mechanical, as described in the solicitation for
proposals. There is some demolition work in the area of the proposed
expansion, such as concrete, asphalt, removal of a portion of the
existing canopy, as shown in the solicitation documents. Phasing and
enclosure partitions are required to maintain operations and safety of
employees. Exterior wall construction and finish is to match existing,
in accordance with the specifications and drawings attached hereof and
made a part hereof. Qualifications Evaluation is based on a 100-point
total (Experience -- 40 points, Management Plan -- 30 points,
Financial Capability -- 15 points, Organization -- 15 points). Offers
are due August 9, 1999, at 4:00 p.m. Performance time is 310 calendar
days from receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated cost range is
between $950,000 to $1,100,000. Contractors may make offers (submit
proposals) without viewing the site. However, site visits and/or a walk
through are encouraged. To arrange for a site visit or walk through,

specifications and drawings is $250 per set for Priority Mail service
(2 to 3 days) and $300 per set for Express Mail service (next day). All

specs will be mailed that day via two/three-day Priority Mail. If you
desire to have them sent via Express Mail, send additional $50 for each
