Firm-Fixed Price Contract, this project will completely renovate the west wing of Building 2376, the Beach Pavilion, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, to accommodate the requirements of the San Antonio Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and the San Antonio Navy Recruiting District (NRD). This building, three stories and basement, is on the National Register of Historic Places and the alterations and repairs will respect the historical significance of the building, with the new uses of general purpose administrative and medical clinic functions. Construction includes asbestos and lead-based paint abatement, complete interior demolition, replacement of exterior windows, clay tile roof repairs, new gypsum board partitions and finishes, acoustical ceiling tiles, resilient floor tile, ceramic tile, interior doors and windows, new HVAC system, plumbing and electrical systems, and replacement of the existing elevator. The plans and specifications will be placed on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be providedfree of charge. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a paper hard copy format. Notification of amendments shall be made through either 3.5" diskette, CD ROM, and/or the Internet. The Government intends to issue this solicitation through the use of CD ROM and the Internet. However, the Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification of any changes to this solicitation.
