The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, intends to award a contract on a sole source basis with RAMIX, Inc., 1672 Donlon St, Ventura CA 93003, for 16 Intelligent dual 100BaseFX Ethernet PMC Controller with FWFOAB firmware and VxWorks drivers for PowerPC. These products will be used in the Engineering Development Model (EDM) for the MK 160 MOD 9 and MOD 10 Gun Computing System (GCS) which supports the Weapon Control Systems Branch. This Fast Ethernet card provides connectivity between the MK 34 GWS elements, such as the MK 46 Optical Sight System, the Gun Mount Control Panel, the Gun Console Computer, and the Gun Mount Processor for the MI 160 GCS MODs 9 and 10. The card shall be in the PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) format as specified in IEEE 1386. The type of interface required is 100Base-FX as specified in IEEE 802.3 The Fast Ethernet card must support full-duplex operation and will provide two ports, with one being the primary and other being the secondary port. The Fast Ethernet card will reside on a PowerPC processor card running the Wind River VxWorks real-time operating system and shall be compatible with both the PowerPC microprocessor and the VxWorks operating system. The RAMIX Ethernet on fiber (100Base-FX) interface card was found to be the only true off the shelf solution, which ensured the required data connectivity and dual redundant path availability within the GWS. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures -- reference Quote #N00178-99-Q-3007.
