Request for Quotation (RFQ) for: PART NUMBER PV_652ADVSNX04FTCFNTX.
PLUTO SERIES, 14 BIT DIGITAL CAMERA SYST EM WITH VISIBLE-ENHANCED,
BACK-ILLUMINATED, THERMO-ELECTRIC COOLED CCD. THE CCD HAS AN IMAGING
ARRAY SIZE OF 652X488 AND IS A SPLIT FRAME-TRANSFER DEVICE WITH 4
OUTPUT PORTS AND 12 MICRON PIXELS. THE FOUR OUTPUTS TRANSFER THE 14 BIT
DATA THROUGH A FIBER OPTIC CHANNEL. MATROX GENESIS CONTROLLER BOARD
WITH A 16 BIT DIGITAL INTERFACE FOR DATA INPUT FROM SCIENTIFIC CAMERA
(ITEM 1). THIS BOARD WILL UTILIZE A TEXAS INSTRUMENT C80 DIGITAL SIGNAL
PROCESSOR AND 64 MEGABYTES OF MEMORY TO ACQUIRE THE POLARIZATION
MEASUREMENTS, AND DO REAL-TIME PROCESSING. THE DATA WILL BE DISPLAYED
USING THE ON-BOARD VIDEO CONTROLLER AND A HIGH RESOLUTION VGA MONITOR.
MATROX PROCESSING BOARD WITH 2 PROCESSING NODES. EACH PROCESSING NODE
CONTAINS 64 MEGABYTES OF MEMORY AND A TEXAS INSTRUMENT C80 DIGITAL
SIGNAL PROCESSOR. THE DATA INPUT IS FROM THE MAIN CONTROLLER. VIEWSONIC
MONITOR MODEL PS970 TO BE USED TO DISPLAY THE REAL-TIME DATA PRODUCED
BY ITEM 2. THE MONITOR IS A 19 INCH SHORT DEPTH DISPLAY WITH A PIXEL
RESOLUTION OF 1280X1024. GENESIS SOFTWARE AND SINGLE USER LICENSE.
CONTROLLER WHICH MUST HAVE 7 PCI SLOTS AND A SEPARATE GRAPHICS CHANNEL
TO MONITOR AND CONTROL THE NON=VIDEO COMPONENTS OF THE MSFC VECTOR
MAGNETOGRAPH. THIS CONTROLLER SHOULD HAVE A MATROX MILLENIUM G200 VIDEO
CARD WITH 16 MB OF MEMORY AND A AGP INTERFACE, 256 MB OF PROCESSING
MEMORY, A MINIMUM DISK MEMORY OF 4.3GB, A HIGH RESOLUTION 19 INCH
MONITOR, AND 4MM TAPE BACKUP SYSTEM. This procurement is being
conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC
intends to purchase the items from Pixelvision, Inc. 15250 NW
Greenbriar Pwky, Beavertown, OR 97006, in accordance with FAR 13.106.
This equipment is required for the support of the High Energy Solar
Spectroscopic Imager (HESSI) mission which will be launched in mid --
2000. Delays in acquiring this equipment will seriously impact the
development schedule. The Government intends to acquire a commercial
item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have until July 23rd, 1999
4:00 PM CST to submit in writing to the identified point of contact,
their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities
will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to
conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received
after July 23rd, 1999 4:00 PM CST or without the required information
will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be
considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this
proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon
responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the
Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this
notice. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. See note
1. The SIC code and size standard for this requirement are 3827 and
500 respectively. The delivery date for this requirement is September
15, 1999. Place of deliveryshall be NASA/MSFC, Building 4487, MSFC, AL
35812. Delivery shall be on an FOB Destination type basis. An
