commercial items prepared in accordance with Subpart 12.6, as
supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This
synopsis will serve as Request for Quotation SSA-RFQ-99-3944 which
seeks to solicit quotes. A written solicitation will not be issued. The
solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those
in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. The Social
Security Administration has the need to purchase two air conditioning
units with the following salient characteristics: Two module design to
provide redundancy; Dual 7.5 ton compressors, one per each module;
Dual refrigerant System, one per each module; Dual Supply air fans, one
per each Module; Dual control systems, one per each module; Dual
two-way head pressure control valves, one per each Module, base
cabinets,; water detector; smoke detector, disconnect; floor stand;
dual motorized backdraft dampers, one per each module; Cooling
capacity: 15 tons (7.5ton compressors each); Airflow Direction:
Downflow; type: Water cooled self-contained package unit, Refrigerant:
R-22; Voltage: 460 Volt, 3 phase; Amperage: Total unit amperage must
not exceed 40 amps; Dimensions NTE -- 84" H x 33.5" W x 106"L:
PRECISION PACKAGE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS, MANUFACTURER: STULZ, STYLE
MODULAR LINE, MODEL #522-W, OR EQUAL. This requirement is 100% small
business set-a-side. Quotations submitted from other than small
business sources will be rejected. All responsible small business
sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the Agency.
Written quotations in response to this RFQ shall be submitted by 3:00
p.m., e.s.t, July 23, 1999, addressed to the Social Security
Administration, Attn: Patricia A. Bullock, 1710 Gwynn Oak Avenue,
Baltimore, Maryland 21207 or faxed to (410) 966-9310. Direct inquires
to my attention on telephone number (410) 965-9528. The delivery
schedule for the units is NTE 60 days from date of award. Expected
award date is within fifteen (15) days of receipt of offers. Provisions
of the FAR Part 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items
apply to this solicitation especially: (a) The Standard Industrial
Classification Code for this acquisition is 3585. The small business
size standard is 750 employees, (b) 1-11; (c), (f), (g). (D) Provision
of the FAR Part 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items apply to this
solicitation. The Government will award a contract resulting from this
solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the
solicitation will be the most advantageous to the Government, price
and other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to
evaluate offerors: technical qualifications, delivery time and lowest
price. Offerors are advised to include a completed copy of the
Provision at FAR Part 42.212-3, Offerors Representations and
Certifications-Commercial Items, with their offer. Provisions at FAR
Part 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items apply to
