There are other service platforms for the Army and Air Force. The EGI contract, via Wright Patterson AFB (WPAFB) ASC/SMYB, was competed between Litton and Honeywell, which resulted in the award of Navy platforms as shown above to the two vendors. This proposed BOA delivery order will be for F-14B and S-3B EGI requirements to Honeywell Inc. The F-14B is installing a total of 67 aircraft with EGI and S-3B is installing a total of 116 aircraft. The FY-99 procurements, to be made on the NAVICP/Honeywell BOA, is for a total of 20 F-14B units and 32 S-3B units. The NAVICP/Honeywell BOA will be utilized to place only an FY-99 EGI order to meet critical government installation schedules beginning in Dec 99 for the S-3B and Jan 00 for the F-14. The expired Air Force contract number for Honeywell is F33657-93-C-0002, the expired Litton contract number is F33657-94-C-2181. The EGI is a navigation systems which provides GPS solutions, inertial navigation solutions, and a blended GPS/inertial solution. The EGI uses a state-of-the-art ring laser gyro and a GPS receiver on a single card. The EGI is unique for each user in hardware and software. This process is referred to as missionization. The EGI requires an adapter mounting plate for F-14 which is permanently attached to the EGI chasis. The adapter mounting plate allows installation in existing ASN-92 mounting holes in aircraft. The S-3 does not require a mount for installation. The Navy will contract via WPAFB for the warranty and production related non-recurring engineering at a later date and do not require that to be priced on the NAVICP BOA. The estimated value of the proposed BOA delivery order is $4,103,000., See Note 22 (ACAVI0708015-077) Posted 07/08/99 (I-SN351996). (0189)
