99 -- MISCELLANEOUS -- POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT SOL DTFH68-99-RFQ-004 DUE 072699 POC Bob Lale (303) 716-2010 This request for quotation is issued for ERFO Project CA 11N26-1(5), Wright's Lake Road, Site 17 Slide Repairs, in El Dorado County, California. The site is located on the Wright's Lake Road. To reach the site, go east on US Highway 50 out of Placerville, CA for approximately 55 kilometers. The Wright's Lake Road intersects U.S. 50 on the north side. The project consists of reconstructing two roadway slide sites. On the Wright's Lake Road, the existing temporary haul road with the temporary 1200 mm pipe will be removed. A low water concrete crossing with a cattle guard grate will be constructed on the Wright's Lake Road. On the Pony Express Trail, approximately 60 m of the trail will be reconstructed. The work also consists of breaking oversize rock, spreading and compacting waste material, reshaping disturbed areas and seeding and mulching. Approximately 430 m3 of useable roadway material is stockpiled adjacent to the Pony Express Trail. Approximately 150 m3 of useable roadway material is stockpiled adjacent to Wright's Lake Road. These stockpiles and the excavation from Wright's Lake Road are to be utilized in the reconstruction of the two sites. After utilization of the stockpiled materials, the contractor is to clean the stockpiled area. There is 150 m3 or more of stockpiled rock that will be utilized for riprap. Some large rock will require breaking before incorporating as riprap. Erosion control devices consisting of silt fence and straw bales are presently on site. These will be required to be maintained or replaced as needed. Additional silt fence will be required at each of the two slide repairs. The existing straw bales can be used in the final mulching after seeding. If the contractor chooses to not use the existing bales for final mulching, they will be required to be removed from the project site and disposed in a legal manner. After acceptance of the work, the contractor will remove all silt fence and dispose of off the project in a legal manner. The existing 1200 mm pipe can be used in the reconstruction of the Pony Express Trail if it is removed without damage. The repair site will be closed to traffic during construction. No work may be performed from sunset until sunrise. Work on weekends is permitted. Estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000.
