Dianna M. McGinley, dmcgin@pica.army.mil. The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC is
soliciting an agreement with Industry for support of the Future Direct
Support Weapon System (FDSWS) development effort. Through the
Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure, the industry partner shall
have access to all technology and information developed by the
Government on the FDSWS. This agreement will support Milestone I
decision. A Science and Technology Objective (STO) is underway at
TACOM-ARDEC to develop and demonstrate new and improved technologies to
be utilized on the FDSWS. The FDSWS will replace the current direct
support artillery weapon, the M119A1 Towed Howitzer. Under this BAA,
the Government is seeking assistance to continue developing
technologies and concepts that can be utilized on the FDSWS. The
industry partner will help the IPT define technologies, conduct
modeling and simulation, develop and test hardware to validate the
models used. To protect U.S. developed technology, all offerors must be
U.S. wholly owned firms or institutions. The resultant agreement is
anticipated to be a Research Other Transaction (OT) in accordance with
10 U.S.C. 2371. However, the Government may award an agreement IAW 10
U.S.C. 2371, Section 845, Prototype OT. This BAA will be available on
TACOM-ARDEC Acquisition Center's home page; the address is
"http://procnet.pica.army.mil" or by contacting the point of contacts
identified at the above address. Posted 07/08/99 (D-SN351573). (0189) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0013 19990712\A-0013.SOL)
