COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 12,1999 PSA#2385R -- MULTI-WING SUPPLY SERVICE HQ AFSPC Chief of Supply Division will
be presenting an Industry Day July 20, 1999, from 08:00 A.M. to 04:00
P.M. in the Air Force Space Command building 1 auditorium. This is an
unclassified briefing to encourage industry interest and input as well
as to provide information about the vision for future Air Force Space
Command supply acquisitions. Air Force Space Command is contemplating
the formation of a multi-wing supply contract to include
centralization of many shop functions. After the conclusion of the
Government presentation, there will be one-on-one discussions with
those contractors in which a time slot has been reserved in advance
with Mr. Lantz. The agenda is projected as: [0800-0805 Introductory
comments], [0805-0850 Performance-based service contract concept],
[0850-0900 Break], [0900-1000 Supply vision], [1000-1015 Break],
[1015-1030 Contract issues], [1030-1100 Questions and Answers],
[1100-1230 Lunch], and [1230-1600 One-on-One Discussions]. Input being
sought from contractors includes:[Contract savings Government might
expect from wing consolidations], [Contract savings Government might
expect from centralization of "backshops"], [Means of incentivizing
contractors into providing other than status quo], [Suggestions for
contract duration], and [Comments and suggestions on best evaluation
factors for a source selection]. Small businesses are encouraged to
attend as it is anticipated this requirement will fall within small
business under SIC code 8744 and the standard of $20M. Attendance is
unrestricted as to the number of representatives per company. In order
