Gorest Service, Region 3, Gila National Forest, Grant County, New Mexico, is soliciting for bids for the Gila Visitor's Center and Catwalk Roads/Parking Maintenance Project. Project includes preparation of existing asphalt surfaces (clean, crack-seal, patch pothole/failures) and application of a single bituminous surface treatment (BST) to both: a)the Gila Visitor's Center main access road, and parking area with its accesses (approx. total area 13,145 SY). b) the Catwalk Parking Area (approx. 2,400 SY), including an expanded new parking area along the north edge of the Catwalk Parking Area (approx. 800 SY). Then provide an acceptable 4" compacted aggregate base course, with a prime coat application and 2" asphalt cold mix mat for uniformly leveling/transitioning to the existing asphalt parking area; with an optional bid for developement of an added new parking area (approx. 850 SY), which includes clearing, grading/shaping then applying a compacted 4" depth aggregate surface course, and removing the existing NMSH&TD cattleguard. (Then back-filling the vault cavity in the roadway with compacted backfill materials, from on-site, placing an acceptable 4" compacted aggregate base course, with a prime coat application, a 2" asphalt cold mix, and applying a single BST that matches existing adjacent asphalt lines/grades.
