Materiel Command Acquisition Center-Natick Contracting Division,
Natick, MA has an excavating requirement to be performed at the U.S.
Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command, SSC, Kansas St, Natick,
MA. This procurement is 100% set-aside for Small Business Concerns, the
applicable Standard Industrial Code for this procurement is 1794 and
the Small Business Size is $7.0 million. The requirements for this
effort are described as follows. The Contractor shall furnish all
labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform the following : a)
Excavation of approximately 1,230 cubic yards of topsoil (4" down from
grade of 22,200 SF) with the bulk to be removed and disposed off site;
b) Installation of 3" deep of compacted gravel (930 cubic yards), over
excavated area; c) Installation of felt membrane (22,200 sf); d)
Installation of 6" x 6" x 8'L pressure treated boards anchored by 2
re-bars (one at each end) (122 boards); e) Installation of wood
chips/mulch boarder (1 ft beyond pressure treated boards on lawn); f)
Installation of 3/4" crushed stone compacted to 4" deep within pressure
treated perimeter; and g) Removal of selective curb length and green
boarder to be replaced with sloped concrete walk at street to create
vehicular entrance to the display area. The Contractor shall be
required to perform the work in accordance with Site Plan Drawings and
the Technical Specifications . The Contractor shall possess all
Federal, State and Local licenses/permits/certifications that are
necessary to perform all services and shall comply with all Federal,
State, and Local regulations, codes and statutes in the performance of
this work. The Government anticipates awarding a single firm fixed
price contract for this effort. The Completion Date for this effort is
July 23, 1999. Offeror's are required to conduct a Site Visit
scheduled for Wednesday, July 14, 1999 at 11:00 AM, prior to submission
