Contracts Office, Contract@nist.gov. The National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate on a sole source
basis with Newport Corporation, 1791 Deere Avenue, Irvine, CA 92606
under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) for opto-mechanical parts. These
parts are as follow: PRL-24 24 inches Optical Rail; PRC-3 3 inches
Optical Stop; PRC-1 1 inch Optical Stop; TGN 120 SS Tilts; UMR 8.25
Translation Stage; BM17.25 1 inch Micrometers; EQ 80-E External UMR
mounts; EQ 80-l Internal UMR mounts; UTR80 Rotation Stage; BR4/M-BR4
Mounting Bridle; IG-25-2ML 2 inches by 5 inches by 2 inches table;
Doubled Table System; NN8-28 Set of eight 28 inches legs. These parts
consist of mounts and translation stages to achieve x-, y-,
z-translation, along with tilt axes and rotation. The lamps will be
adjusted along these three axes and three different degrees of
rotation, thus if any of the parts are missing, the final objective
cannot be achieved. The lamps need to be aligned using all degrees of
freedom. These parts are intended for the Facility for Automated
Spectral Calibration or FASCAL in our Optical Technology Division.
These parts consist of a parts which make up a system for adjustments
of lamps which are issued by NIST. These parts are unique and only
Newport Corporation offers the array of parts which can build up such
a rotation and translation setup. The Government requires these parts
be compatible with the present lamp adjustment systems at NIST. Newport
Corporation is the only source that has a variety of opto-mechanical
parts to achieve the 6-degrees of rotational and transnational
maneuverability required for the lamp holders. No solicitation package
will be issued. The Contractor must be able to meet all the
requirements stated herein. The anticipated award date of the contract
is on or around July 23, 1999. In accordance with FAR 5.207(e)(3),
Numbered Note 22, DOES NOT APPLY. If you have any questions regarding
