The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC, Panama City, Florida intends to procure 50 each PC104 1553 Boards, Part Number ASF-PC104-1, from SBS Technologies, Inc., 2400 Louisian Boulevard NE, #5-600, Albuquerque, NM 87110 on a sole source basis. These boards will be incorporated into the Shallow Water Mine Countermeasure (SWMCM) Kit for Improved Piloting Performance (SKIPPER) subsystem of the Landing Craft Air Cushioned (LCAC) Autopilot program. Significant design and testing efforts have been expended on the development of this subsystem using this board. The duplication of effort that would be required to integrate and proof test another vendor's board into the SKIPPER subsystem at this point would greatly exceed any projected savings that might be realized through competition.
