Massenburg, Contract Specialist, (210) 652-5178 CBD-CTO CONTRACT EXTENSION 17. MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF COMMERCIAL TRAVEL OFFICE. The Government intends to issue a sole source modification to Scheduled Airlines Traffic Offices (SATO), 1005 North Glebe Road, Arlington VA 22201 under contract number F41691-92-S0001 to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials supervision and other items or services necessary to perform interim management and operation of the commercial travel offices located at Randolph AFB TX, Brooks AFB TX, Lackland AFB TX, Goodfellow AFB TX, and Laughlin AFB TX. The period of performance is from 01 Jan 00 until the services are subsumed into the DoD-wide Commercial Travel Office (CTO) contract scheduled for Jun 2000. The DoD-wide contract will be solicited under full and open competition. SATO is the one and only contractor who is in place and ARC-licensed to provide temporary services in a timely manner without disruption until the requirement is rolled into the DoD-wide CTO contract. Award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, due to the very short period of performance.
