anticipates entering into a sole source procurement negotiations with
General Electric Medical Systems, 3000 North Grandview Blvd.,
Milwaukee, WI for one (1) RT Advantage III Ultrasound #H4500RE, one (1)
Data Management Systems #H4400MC, one (1) Line Printer #H4500PT and one
(1)Transducer Convex, 3.5mhz, 40mm radius # H4061CB. This is a combined
synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR subpart 12.6 based with additional information
included in this notice. This solicitation document and incorporated
provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 97-04. SIC Code
3841 applies with 500 employees size standard. The proposed contract
action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to
solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR
6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability
to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of
intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all
proposals received within requested reply due date of 7/27/99 @ 4:30pm
local time will be considered by the Government. A determination by
the Government not to compete with the proposed contract based upon
responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the
Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for
the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
procurement. the following FAR provisions apply to this solicitation:
52.212-1, Instructors to Offerors-Commercial Items, 52.21.-2,
Evaluation-Commercial Items, 52.212-4, Contract Terms and
Conditions-Commercial Items, 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions
Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items,
and 39.106, Year 2000 Compliance. Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C.
253(1) and justification made based on the determination that the
Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available
